my self : the muse

Month: June, 2011

the less I claim as mine

the less I have to protect

at home on crowded streets

why do we hold our applause

so often silent

(even to the end)

when always there’s reason

to jump up and scream

(for bravery of the soul)

“you! yes you! are worthy”

of this

(and so much more)

for each day greeted

just for this

just for being

in a world so hostile

to life

(and applause)

for yourself

living from fear

these broken memories

cast long shadows

I speak of serving this earth

yet I am a seed —

my self needs tending

harmonic chaos

floats softly hidden beneath

this flooded country
