my self : the muse

What I Left

Gone beyond –

the satisfaction

of unwilled emptiness.

A blank page

left to the world.

City (in)Sanity

City sanity requires

syncopated minds

our body can’t hold

Listening –

I leave behind

a life of going

and arrive

now here

at peace

finally –

with there

Going to Die

I’m going to die

of course –

one day –

that much is certain

but –

when it comes –

will I finally see

all this ignorance

was part of the show

or will the credits roll

with me still firmly in place.

Those Who Can Restrain Their Senses

From Landscapes of Wonder, by Bhikkhu Nyanasobhano:

Therefore those who can restrain their senses, who can gracefully adapt to earth tones, will fare much better than those who hunger again and again for delicious sensation.  Where there is craving or aversion, there will always be suffering, for the mind that pulls or pushes cannot come to balance.  Here in this unreliable universe, we can neither make the beloved stay nor the undesired disappear, so we will be thwarted wherever we turn as long as we turn with the cycle of liking and disliking.

Read and noted somewhere around June 2015 – my emphasis.
